Cancel before the trial converts · no owner refunds August 2026

Billing ·

Cancel a Skool trial in Billing. After a charge, there is no refund.

Owners: Community Settings → Billing → Manage subscription → Cancel subscription. Do this during the 14-day trial and you pay $0. After Hobby ($9) or Pro ($99) bills, Skool’s terms are explicit: no refunds for that period. You keep access until it ends, then the group archives read-only.

Owner cancel steps: Skool help, last updated October 29, 2025. Payment terms: February 19, 2026. UI can move — if you don’t see Billing, zoom the window down (Skool documents this).

Cancel your group (owners / admins)

This is the path Skool publishes for people who created the community — including a free trial.

Billing tab

Open Billing. In the mobile app, scroll the top settings menu sideways if the tab is off-screen.

Manage subscription → Cancel

Click Manage subscription, then Cancel subscription. Skool says the trial or subscription is then canceled and the group is saved for later.

Can’t see Billing? Skool tells Mac users to press Command and minus, Windows users Ctrl and minus, to shrink the layout until the tab appears.

Skool’s TLDR: you can cancel anytime, but they don’t issue refunds. Subscription fees accrue from the first day of the term until canceled, even if you didn’t use the group.

What happens after you cancel

  • During the trial: no $9/$99 if you cancel before it converts. Content is saved; you can reactivate later (Skool’s wording).
  • After a paid period has started: no refund for that month or year. Access continues through the period you already paid.
  • When that period ends: the group is archived. Existing content is read-only. No new posts until you resubscribe.

Canceling a membership to someone else’s Skool

Different product, different screen. Paid members use Settings → that community → Manage membership → cancel. Skool recommends canceling at least 24 hours before rebilling. Leaving or canceling does not auto-refund a member charge — you ask the group owner. That is not the $9/$99 owner bill this page is about.

Why people search “is Skool a scam”

Skool is a real company. The complaints that look like “they stole a month” are usually: trial converted on schedule, then the no-refund rule. That’s disclosed in payment terms, and it’s easy to miss if you started a group to “just look around.” Treat the trial like a calendar event, not a sandbox with no card.

Will I be charged if I cancel on day 14?

Cancel before the trial becomes a paid term. Don’t wait until you see the charge. If a period has already started, Skool’s policy is no refund for it.

Do I lose my courses if I cancel?

Skool says the group is saved and can be reactivated. After a paid term ends it goes read-only. Export anything you can’t afford to only keep inside Skool.

Are member payment fees refundable?

Skool’s Payments FAQ: transaction fees are non-refundable. Member refunds are the creator’s call, not an automatic Skool refund.
